In partnership with Tasman Machinery, Formech installed a large format vacuum forming machine (1372) and offered hands on training for the tutors, technicians and students. Paul Vukovich (Formech International CEO) commented:

“We are delighted to be associated with the University of Western Sydney and inspired by their passion for design and technology. It was a pleasure to meet the resourceful team responsible for the UWS solar car project, comprising students from a diverse range of technical competences.

We also look forward to assisting them with technical support for all vacuum formed components, modelling and in particular improved optical clarity for the cockpit canopy.”

Formech and Tasman Machinery also took the opportunity to visit RMIT University in Melbourne, existing customers for Formech’s compact floor standing 508FS and large format 1372.

It was great to get some feedback from the tutors of the department on the projects they are running whilst offering ideas and technical support to try more challenging applications.
