Formech & EFI @ the International Sign Expo

Last week Formech joined EFI at the International Sign Expo in Las Vegas by special invitation. EFI is a major player in the global, large format printing market and has partnered with Formech in order to demonstrate their proprietary inks for deep draw thermoforming.

The potential of these inks is evidenced by the overwhelming interest of show patrons that stopped in for a demonstration on the Formech 508FS machine. Shaun Lugton, the applications specialist for EFI’s thermoforming (TF) program stated,

“The Formech 508FS machine makes for a perfect demo and really allows the customer to envision what is possible through digital printing and deep draw forming.

Having the machine at the booth is a real show stopper because people like to see the inks in action during the forming process. In addition this helps potential customers visualize their opportunities in real time.

The impact of forming on site versus just simply hanging samples is tremendous. We could not have done this without the help of Formech.”

Attendees were quick to recognize that digital printing and vac-forming at their own facility is not only easy but could be quite profitable. Existing applications for these special inks are included but not limited to POS displays, signs of all types, gaming consoles, packaging, and even auto parts; all of which can be formed on Formech’s range of machines.
